Jewelry business marketing tools are just not some business cards, refrigerator magnets,some postcard ads and brochures. Yes, of course they help, and are needed,but the core marketing strategy is much deeper than that.

This involves:

Confidence in our self and work

Having clear idea about our own goal,and business plan

Understanding our clients, their needs and our competitors

Excellent service and product

Using marketing tools effectively and regularly- like advertising,word of mouth references etc.

Establishing an identity that is unique and no one can provide

and much more.

You see it is very hard for artisan jewelry artists to market and sell their products. This is because, most of the time the creative personality is the “right brain type”. It is diametrically opposite to what is demanded of them, to stay afloat in the business - like working with numbers, use the analytical brain instead of the instinctive, emotional one and so on.

When they have to put a price tag on their work or go through the marketing aspect, hooting their own horn and promoting their own created art, it requires different kind of mentality, skills that the artist has to learn.

When we create our piece of jewelry we give our heart and soul in it. Sometimes each piece have a little story that is part of us that we also offer the buyer. Therefore when that is not appreciated we do take it personally, feel rejected, fearful, and even our artistic flow may hinder.
