Let's first get introduced to the tools of the trade

You will need
Beads,
string or beading wire (name brands are Acculon, Beadalon, Soft flex etc in USA),
clasps,
crimping beads to attach the clasps with your string of beads.
You may use wire and other things too instead of using beading wire, which we'll come to later on.
You may like to have a beading board or a beading mat for working with the project.
Other basic tools you may need are:
flush cutter to cut the beading wire,
round nose pliers and a
chain nose pliers to start with.
You have many options.
Let’s start at the very beginning. The simplest one is when you use a beading wire to string your beads.
These beading wires come in various thickness starting from .024 mm to .010 mm. Depending on your choice of beads you select the thickness of the wire. For example if you have chunky rocks to work with you want sturdy , strong thick wire, on the other hand for fine gemstones and pearls you may have to use thinner ones.
There are several brands like Beadalon, Acculon, Softflex etc. I like Softflex best, especially for fine gemstones and pearls, for its flexibility and the way it falls. But that’s my personal preference. The other ones are fine too.
In the Autumn Necklace Design I have used copper wire, glass beads and amber beads.

On the other hand a very different wire work technique is used in the following design

Garnet teardrops knitted in silver wire - ( shown below ) is created with garnet gemstone teardrops that are very tiny and I used very thin 28 g sterling silver wire and a pair of size 7 (US) knitting needles.
Several books, videos and magazines have inspired and helped me that I'd like to share with you:
